Whether you’re looking to eat out at breakfast, lunchtime or dinner, you’ll find a fantastic variety of restaurants in and near Union Station in Washington DC; making it a perfect location to sit down and enjoy dinner before joining Gray Line DC for an exciting evening on the town. The Gray Line Luxury coaches depart at 7pm from the bus terminal located inside Union Station, and our night tour will showcase the splendor of Washington DC, illuminated with lights from the US Capitol to the Lincoln Memorial. DC after Dark.

Whether you’re looking for a fine-dining experience, delicious steak or seafood, traditional American cuisine, pizza, burgers or a calorie conscious salad – here are our favorite places to eat at Union Station.

Center Café

Offering a panoramic view of Union Station’s Grand Halls, Center Café offers a fantastically diverse menu. Try a light-bite if you’re in rush, or enjoy a candlelight dinner if you’re in the mood for great mood and a peaceful ambience. Light-bites include half-shell oysters, served by the half-dozen or dozen, and their famous shrimp cocktail. Or why not enjoy a New England Clam Chowder followed by a full-rack of their special baby-back ribs.

ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen

Drawing on the beautiful flavors and cooking style of Southeast Asia, ShopHouse derived its name from the mid-rise buildings synonymous with many Southeast Asian cities. Rice and noodle based dishes are brought to life with typically Asian spicy sauces and tasty marinated meats, all mixed with a wide variety of herbs and vegetables. You can also build your own dishes.

Shake Shack

Shake Shack opened its first restaurant in New York in 2004, and Danny Meyer’s burger chain now boasts some of America’s most popular burger restaurants – including this one inside Union Station. It offers a popular selection of gourmet burgers as well as its unique range of frozen custard. It has also recently added breakfast to its popular lunch and evening menu.

Chop’t Creative Salad Company

If you like to keep an eye on your calorie intake, then this unique salad chain provides a great place to enjoy a quick quality salad or salad wrap. Choose from a range of tasty pre-selected salads or push the boat out and create your own. The calories contained in each pre-selected meal and individual items is listed on the menu. This includes the great selection of delicious dressings, all of which have less than 50 calories per serving. A perfect pick for a healthy yet value for money meal out.

Bistro Bis

If you fancy treating yourself to a refined meal in an award winning restaurant – then Bistro Bis is definitely worth considering. Located close to Union Station, on Capitol Hill, this French bistro was opened by James Beard several years ago, and remains one of the finest dining experiences in Washington DC, serving gourmet food that’s worth the above average price tag.

Charlie Palmer Steak

Opened by Celebrity Chef Charlie Palmer, the kitchen is now in the capable hands of Executive Chef Jeffery Russell. It provides a beautiful dining ambience and some of the finest steak and seafood in Washington. Open for lunch and dinner, and the cocktail menu is well worth perusing.

Whatever you fancy, once you’ve enjoyed your dining experience, it’s time to jump aboard a Gray Line Luxury Coach to take in the sights such as the Lincoln and Iwo Jima Memorials, Kennedy Center and Washington Monument.

After your meal why not take our DC After Dark Tour.
