Great experience. comfortable ride

This is an Overall Rating. While the Mt. Vernon and Arlington trip was very good and the driver very humorous and had an excellent delivery, that was not so with the DC at night Tour which took place on Friday, June 2nd.That driver had a monotone delivery and literally "droned on and on"Very uninteresting. However, that was not the worst of it. When we arrived at the Martin Luther King Memorial, it was about 9 p.m. I heard him say that the "Lincoln Memorial was 'over there', a little walk." Well, it was at least a half mile, and by the time we got there walking with another customer who jogged, it was almost the 20 minutes he allotted for the stop! We decided to take in the Lincoln Memorial, and not go back to the bus. We ordered an Uber. Just when the Uber arrived, the bus arrived and a passenger got out and told us the bus came to pick us up. We told him we had already ordered an Uber. When we came back to Union Station the next morning for the Arlington Tour, I told this to the very nice woman at your ticket office. She apologized sincerely.

Great tour. The driver was extremely helpful with instructions and directions. He did an excellent job narrating the tour. He made it a very meaningful experience.

The Grayling tour allowed us to see a good number of sites in and around Washington in a relatively short time. Enough time was allowed at each stop to take in all the locations, pictures, etc. The driver/narrators were excellent - extremely knowledgeable concerning all the historical and current buildings and locations. We could not have driven ourselves around and viewed all the things pointed out during the trip and learned so much detail about the Washington area. Absolutely well worth the price and the only way to tour Washington!

ITINERARY

Combo: Mount Vernon and Arlington National Cemetery Plus 1/2 Off DC After Dark

Those who are in DC for a day and a night can take advantage of this special combo offer to fill their time with sights. This special offer allows you to see Mount Vernon, Arlington National Cemetery as well as all of the sights on our DC After Dark tour. With the offer, you can book the first two parts of this tour to receive 50% off the last part of the tour.

What will you see on this Tour?

With so many sights and monuments being encompassed in this combination, the question should be ‘what can’t you see on this tour?’ The tour takes place for nine hours during the day and then a further three hours in the evening for the After Dark portion. And, you don't have to take both tours in the same day, if you wish to spread out your experience with Gray Line, DC!

The first part of this tour includes Mount Vernon, the home and final resting place of the first president. The mansion and surrounding gardens offer plenty of chances to walk around and learn. The grounds were a working plantation and the tomb of the Washingtons are set in a beautiful garden.

Then, it’s on to Arlington National Cemetery to view historic gravesites and memorials. These tributes to soldiers are all over the area and provides visitors a place to stop and pay their respects. General Pershing and President John F. Kennedy are just two of the famous names buried here. This somber tour is incredibly interesting and will make any visitor aware of just how many soldiers make the ultimate sacrifice. America's "most hallowed ground" is an important way to reflect on wars and the defense and protection of the United States.

While on this tour, you can also take a visit to Arlington House, which was the ancestral home of Robert E Lee. This mansion was taken away from the family during the military strife that accompanied the Civil War and was captured by the federal government. The house has been restored to its former glory and now reflects the way that it was in the 1800s.

Finally, with this combo deal, you’ll be taken on our DC After Dark tour in the evening, which is filled with history. This tour mainly focuses on memorials and famous sights that look simply breathtaking in the evening. They include the Lincoln Memorial, Iwo Jima Memorial and White House (photo stop only) – each of which look stunning in the darkness. The biggest monuments, including the Washington Monument, can also still be seen from the coach tour and this tour offers a totally unique way to see DC.

Why should you go on this Tour?

If you enjoy a bargain and getting money off a tour that will stay in your memory for years to come, then check out this combo. You’ll get all of the fun of Mount Vernon in the morning, a trip to Arlington National Cemetery in the afternoon, and picturesque views of the city by night. The coach is a comfortable and luxurious way to see all of these things, while our driver guides tell you all about the sights.
